Look what I can do!

My mom named me Stuart because some little boy on TV, jumped like me she said. When she saw me jump, she thought I look like Stuart. He would said, "look what I can do" and when I jump my mom says "Look what I can do". Here is the video.

Doesn't he look like me with his big brown eyelashes. I love my name Stuart. I used to be called Odasious. Mom hated it and I did too.

So many friends!

Makayla, the girl next door, came to visit us with my mom. Titan can be anti-social, but he followed her when she was leaving. She is nice. I gave her kisses. This morning, we got to hang out with Oreo, Sienna, and the big white goat. We get to see them once in awhile and we tend to be affectionate with them, either by kissing them, rubbing against them or smelling them. We are very affectionate. We love to give and receive kisses. Titan was also playing with Sienna. In goat language, playing is head-butting. It is normal for a young goat to butt-head. My brother Sundance, used to butt-head with my mom, and she would say "I am not a goat!".

We want grains!

We got to go out last night and for awhile we were grazing the nice, fresh, springy grass. After about 30 minutes, the twins wanted their grains, and as soon as mom went inside the house, we followed her and waited at the door, just in case she would come out with our food. Since she did not come out right away, we ran to the deck because we can see her in the kitchen, and the twins were crying. Then, she reappeared in the front of the house with our food. We started running and jumping almost pushing her on the ground.

Lots of pine and lots of rain

Today we have been inside the house a lot. It has been raining and we hate the rain. We hate water on our food as well. That is why mom give us dry hay every morning and we usually get more if it is raining. We like alfalfa and timothy grass (see picture). It comes as compresed bale. My mom has to break it apart for us. Yesterday our uncle Ron, went and got us some pine branches.

What's for dinner?

Mom came home and it was still light out. She let us out but I have to be chained so the twins do not run away. Unfortunately, they do not get it. They are suppose to eat the grass and weed all around but instead they wanted to hang out on the deck. Mom was making dinner and they could see her at the window and were asking for dinner as well. We get grains every night and that is what they wanted. While they were on the deck, dad decided to scare them off with this big noisy vehicle. The twins started running and running, going all around the house. Mom came out and said to dad "they need to eat, please stop torturing them!". The twins were so happy to see mom. No more scary, noisy machine. We finally got our grains.

Grass on my mom's head

The reason why, my mom has grass on her head is because in the morning when she gives us food, I put so much in my mouth and tend to swing my head around, the grass flies all over the place including the twins head. While mom, shake the grass out of their head, she is next to me, she gets grass all over. She said "you are such a messy eater!".

Why we love trees?

We use trees as shelter when it rains. Goats do not like rain. Just to make this blog an informative one, goats need sun exposure, make sure any shelter with a roof is facing South, and when we can't get to a shelter, a tree will do. We also love the bark on the trees, but mom gets angry if we eat the bark. She doesn't mind so much on little trees. Bark taste good and with our teeth we have no difficulty removing the bark from the trees. This morning she put more pine branches in our pasture and we often eat the bark from the branches before we eat the pine. After we are done eating pine, mom said we have nice breath and she doesn't mind the kisses. She said they are mighty fresh!

Stuart Houdini

Mom said: "he pulled another Houdini on me!". That means, Stuart got untied from his chain. Mom was calling him because she was afraid he went to the goats next door, but then she heard him calling from the deck in the back of the house. We were crying to because we hate to be separated from him and especially when we can't see him. Mom took us near the deck and went back to get the chain. Stuart followed her. When she came back to the deck area Stuart did not follow, he just stood there watching. That was funny!, so she went to get the short leach and went she came back out, she could not find Stuart again. He was back at the deck and calling her. Stuart was really funny and playing games. He wanted to be scratch all over. We are babies but he can be such a big baby too. Signed Buster & Titan.

Another stand for us

This morning, mom and the lady and the dog (dog in the picture), pushed a new perch by our house. Now we have three. Mom stepped on it and was asking me to join her. There is not enough room for 2 goats on that perch. As soon as she jumped out, Buster stepped on it and I pushed him because everything here is mine. The dog went under the fence and got shock.

Please scratch my head!

Today, my mom noticed that the top of my head was green. No, I was not celebreating St Patrick's day. The part near my horns (you can called them stubs), is always hitchy. My mom started scratching it with her big garden gloves. I love that. It feels good.

Trip to the creek

Another fun time, today was when dad on his noisy machine drove down this road. I followed mom and behind me were the twins. We walked through the woods and we stop by a river. I drank some of the water. It was cold and fresh but I love the grass that tasted so good by the water. We went back up and mom, dragged some pine branches for later. Sienna, the goat from next door came and hang out with us while we ate some more scotch broom aka Cytisus scoparius in latin. That reminds me, I used to have a latin name. More on that later....

The three musketeers!

I love saturdays. Mom is usually home and we do a ton of fun stuff. She opens the gate in the morning and has we all charge up the hill, she calls us the 3 musketeers. Then we turn into bums, that is something else she calls us when we just walk around sniffing grass and dirt on the ground trying to identify the best food. This morning, it seems that we found a lot of pine and that stuff smelled the best today, nice and fresh and on the ground from the last storm.

I am no longer a packing goat

I wanted to say, I am not packing anymore. I retired few years ago from packing. Finally, I settle here and I am enjoying life in doing nothing. My mom doesn't get it. She put Maddy on my back when she was 3 months old (see picture) and that was fine, Maddy was light as a feather, but last weekend, I simply REFUSED for Maddy who is much heavier now, to ride on my back. NO MORE PACKING, GOT IT!

Texas Toasts, yummie!

Mom got home again and it was dark. Titan and Buster were crying, specially Buster. After she gave us our grains for the night, she was walking with a bag. She came to the fence and gave us each 2 toasts. The Texas kind. It was so good, we all devoured the slices. I even tried to grab, the slice out of Buster's mouth.

Looking for my lost brother - Sundance

Over a year ago, Sundance moved in with us. In June 2008, the twin brothers arrived and I pushed Sundance away from them. I have to show who is the boss around here and I would not let him get closed to the little ones. Then my mom, opened the gate and Sundance disappeared. I have not seen him since. If you see a goat (Nigerian Dwarf), that matches the picture on the right, call 555-BAAA.

Titan's compromising picture

Now, this was the 1st time he ever jumped on the house. I guess we all have been trying for awhile. I found these pictures to prove it (this is me in the front). First Buster jumped in, I do not have the pictures to prove it, then Titan, that is when I got the camera.

Ready for bed

Titan, Buster and I, went for a fresh grass grazing. Once it got dark, Buster wanted back in. We got our grains and now, the boys are under the tree, while I am standing on my perch by the house. Another day, another night in the life of a goat. Good night, sleep tight!
This beautiful picture was taking by my friend Violeta. She wanted to share it with everyone.

Climbing on top of the house

No more rain today. It has been snowing and raining for the last past week. Buster was so bored, he jumped on top of our house. I wanted to join to. But I guess I am a faty boy, that is what my mom calls me. Tonight she is coming home at a decent hour and will take us out for a munchie.
